Evaluate Your Professors is a student-centered EdTech platform designed to make academic decision-making easier. It enables users to explore professors across universities, view their ratings and reviews, and contribute personal feedback— fostering transparency and helping students make informed academic choices.
Challenge
The platform aimed to simplify how students evaluate and discover professors based on real reviews and ratings while ensuring data integrity and platform responsiveness. They needed:
- A searchable database with autocomplete and smart filtering
- Real-time suggestions while typing (Google-like search behavior)
- Abuse detection and filtering in user-submitted reviews
- A clean, responsive UI to display professor details and ratings
- A reliable backend to support fast lookups across large datasets

Solution
We delivered a streamlined web app designed for academic transparency and ease of use:
- Smart Search Engine: Search by name or university with real-time suggestions
- Review & Rating Display: Public ratings and user-submitted experiences per professor
- Add Review Flow: Simple UI with built-in profanity filter to ensure content quality
- Sorting & Filtering: Professors sortable by name or rating, with review-level filters
